The internal crisis of the People's Party (PP) continues to worsen.

After a stormy management committee, yesterday, Monday, February 21, for nine hours in a row, Pablo Casado, the president of the conservative party refuses to resign and has convened a meeting of the management assembly for next Monday to decide on a extraordinary congress.

But there, his position is extremely fragile.

Many are calling for his resignation, after he accused Madrid's president of corruption.

How much longer will Pablo casado be able to stay in place?

Since last Thursday, when he accused the very popular president of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayuso, of corruption, his former friend who is now his great rival, the People's Party has been upside down.

We are talking about the worst internal crisis for 30 years, we are talking about an irremediable fracture between the two leaders.

A legal contract

Isabel Diaz Ayuso admitted that her brother received money, around 55,000 euros, for the purchase of anti-Covid-19 masks, but says that this contract is completely legal.

Since then, Pablo Casado has been perceived as a fragile leader, who wanted to get rid of an adversary in an odious way.

Many activists, executives, regional barons, see it in everything like this.

An extraordinary congress

And in particular Nunez Feijoo, the conservative president of Galicia who demands the immediate resignation of Pablo casado, the only way according to him and many others to find a solution to this crisis.

At worst, say the many detractors, an extraordinary congress is needed as soon as possible to elect a new leader of the main opposition party.
