Market studies indicate that sales of the pharmaceutical market in the Middle East and North Africa are expected to exceed $42 billion this year, as the sector's sales in the UAE alone exceeded $3 billion.

Although 63% of the pharmaceutical sector trade is by multinational companies, initiatives to reduce drug prices in the country have contributed to a significant increase in the manufacturing movement of drugs and medical supplies.

The increasing population growth has also caused an increase in the consumption of medicines that are used in the long term, in relation to an increase in diseases resulting from poor awareness of the correct health style, which reinforces the importance of medical and scientific conferences such as DUPHAT, which highlights the promotion of awareness among all.

Dr. Ali El-Sayed Hussein said that the event brings together the best expertise and international names in the pharmaceutical sector, which reflects his strategy to gather the best possible for the pharmaceutical sector, and raise awareness about the sector and make the pharmaceutical industry safer.

He added that pharmacy played a major role in addressing the Corona pandemic, strengthening the health system and educating the community, as it was considered an essential component of the treatment and prevention system in the country, as pharmacists have been educating the injured in the correct use of medicine, following up on developments in the “Corona” crisis and adhering to regulations and precautionary measures.

DUPHAT is of great importance in improving the pharmaceutical sector in the region by providing a unique platform that contributes to facilitating continuous education and creating job opportunities through communication, highlighting the most important and recent discoveries and presenting scientific research that benefit the entire world.

The conference, organized by Index Conferences and Exhibitions, enjoys a strategic partnership with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, and is supported by the Health Authority, the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, the International Society of Pharmacology, the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the European Society of Clinical Pharmacy.
