It is not just the reindeer herder Peter Larsson in Maskaure forest Sami village who has frustratedly wondered what the Sami Parliament is doing in the matter of the high fuel price.

During the first day of the plenary session, it was also a hot topic, both among the members, but also among the audience.

The Sami Land Party's Marianne Gråik was up in the podium and asked what the board had done with the issue.

And listener Edvin Rensberg, Ruvhten Sijte, asked the same question during Question Time.

"Bombed the Ministry"

Jan Rannerud, Vuovdega is the chairman of the reindeer husbandry committee.

- Today we have no opportunities in the Sami Parliament to pay out any support, but we are working quite hard now to start a special climate support that can meet those issues.

How?

- We have bombarded the ministry with letters and e-mails to try to get meetings with them, Rannerud says.

But this is not something that committee colleague Marita Stinnerbom in Guovssonásti knows.

- I see that the Sami Parliament has not acted on this issue as I would have liked.

I have contacted parliamentary politicians and just when LRF demands the support, the reindeer industry is an areal industry and should be able to take part in the support.

And I have also answered that to voters, when questions have come to me, Marita Stinnerbom answers.
