The United States "commits to continuing diplomacy until such time as an invasion begins," White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a statement.

The content of the summit will be prepared by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov during their meeting scheduled for next Thursday, said the Elysée for his part.

However, images from US satellite imagery company Maxar show new deployments of Russian troops and military hardware on the Ukrainian border.
