The further action in the fight against the corona virus after the expiry of the Infection Protection Act on March 19th harbors considerable potential for the traffic light coalition to split.

Indirectly, the FDP chairman Lindner and other politicians in his party have now made this clear again.

The Minister of Finance emphasized that introducing compulsory vaccinations from the age of 18 is “not a government project”.

Like Scholz, Lindner also knows that the traffic light for such compulsory vaccination does not have its own majority in the Bundestag.

According to the most recent count, the group motion submitted by MPs from the three traffic light groups is now supported by more than 200 MPs.

But this is still a long way from a yes.

It's time for answers

Lindner's party friend Kubicki has already declared the project "dead" in view of the mood in the FDP and the no of the Union faction.

For the SPD and the Greens, who are still passionately campaigning for mandatory vaccinations from the age of 18, this would be a huge defeat, a decision of conscience or not.

Thanks to the FDP, the traffic light is also divided on the question of which measures should still apply after the Omicron wave has subsided.

Will there be an "emergency kit" with measures for spring, as the Greens are demanding?

And is it still compulsory to wear an FFP2 mask in retail, on buses and trains?

It's time for answers.
