On Sunday, an orange warning came for extensive snowstorms in Svealand.

The warning entails a risk of major impact on important functions and a risk of accidents.

The precipitation in Uppsala in the early morning consisted of rain, but after seven o'clock it turned to snow.

- It snows most heavily during the morning.

Then it goes down to increase again in the afternoon, says Kristin Halberg, meteorologist on duty at SMHI.

So far this morning, two traffic accidents have been reported in Uppsala County, but the traffic situation is worse in, for example, the Örebro area with a number of stationary trucks and the impact on other traffic.

How to think today, is it worth going out into the traffic at all?

- There is a great risk of traffic accidents with so much snow, and also blown with the risk of drift formation.

We advise against going out into the traffic, says Kristin Hallberg to SVT Nyheter Uppsala.

"In combination with the wind, it is likely to create problems on the roads, with delays of buses and trains and the risk of power outages," says SVT's meteorologist Marcus Sjöstedt.
