20 Minutes

learned this Monday afternoon from the police services.

The investigation began last September.

The police opened investigations on a point of deal, where people came to stock up on narcotics, every day, in Saint-Jean Saint-Pierre, a popular district of Narbonne.

In January, after a meticulous work of collecting evidence, the police proceeded to the arrest of ten people, and to the seizure of approximately 90,000 euros of drugs.

They have since all been tried and sentenced to terms of up to four years in prison.

A chase to Carcassonne

During the interrogations, the investigators managed to identify a 25-year-old man, suspected of being the originator of this vast traffic.

The police will manage to arrest this suspect, not without difficulty: the man fled by car, engaging the police at high speed on the roads of the department, to Carcassonne.

Searches revealed, in a box, 100 kg of cannabis resin, 5 kg of cocaine, and 1 kg of heroin and bullet-proof vests belonging to the gendarmerie.

The last arrested was imprisoned, pending trial, at the end of March.
