Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs: Vegetable supply is sufficient and stable

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced today (February 21) that last winter and this spring, the recovery effect of vegetable production capacity in northern my country has shown, and southern vegetables have been actively entering the market. In addition, measures to stabilize production and supply in various regions have achieved remarkable results. The supply of vegetables is sufficient and stable, and vegetables are available after the Spring Festival. Prices are stable with some declines.

The latest dispatch of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs shows that in January this year, the national vegetable field area reached more than 80 million mu, an increase of more than 2 million mu year-on-year. It is estimated that from January to March, the total vegetable supply will reach 170 million tons, an increase of 3.5 million tons year-on-year. , plus winter storage vegetables, the total supply is sufficient.

From a regional perspective, the "Southern Vegetables to the North" base and the main vegetable producing provinces with facilities in the north are the main forces to ensure the supply of winter and spring markets.

In January, the area of vegetables in the fields in these areas was 57 million mu, an increase of nearly 1.3 million mu year-on-year. It is currently in the peak harvest season, which can effectively ensure market supply.

At present, the peak of market demand during the Spring Festival has passed, and the price of vegetables has fluctuated downward. It is expected that it will gradually enter the seasonal decline range in March.

Recently, there have been multiple rounds of low-temperature rain and snow weather in many places in my country. The dispatch shows that the rain and snow weather has limited impact on the production of facility vegetables.

According to the main producing provinces of facility vegetables such as Hebei and Liaoning, since the Spring Festival, most of the northern part of the north has high temperature and sufficient sunlight, and facility vegetables are growing well. Vegetables were frozen, and only a few old facility greenhouses were damaged due to snowfall, which had little impact on facility vegetable production.
