Former Prime Minister Jeong Un-hyeon, a close aide to Lee Nak-yeon, general election chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, suddenly declared support for the presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, the People's Power, on the 21st.

Jeong said on Facebook this morning, "Now I'm going to go a different path. I'm going to help Candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, the People's Power."

Jeong served as the public affairs head of Nak-yeon Lee's camp during the presidential primary in the party last year, and led intense public criticism of Lee Jae-myung, who was Lee's rival at the time.

As he is classified as one of Lee Nak-yeon's closest associates to general election chairman Lee Nak-yeon, his 'declaration of support for Yun Seok-yeol' is expected to have quite a ripple effect within the party.

"Recently, I met Candidate Yoon through an acquaintance who knew both sides well, and I was embarrassed to receive a request for help from Candidate Yoon, but in the end I accepted it," said Jeong. “He said.

He said, "It is difficult for me to understand the behavior of famous people from the progressive camp, who have both morality and reform, to support candidate Lee Jae-myung, who has fatal flaws as a leader, symbolized by 'four criminal offenses - depravity - Daejang-dong - lies'." Even if they insist that 'Lee Jae-myung support is good, Yun Seok-yeol support is evil', this is the base logic of the camp and deserves criticism."

He continued, "No matter how good the promises made by a candidate who flips his word over, a candidate who lacks morals of an ordinary person, or a candidate who doesn't know shame, he can't believe their promises. Unripe apples can be eaten raw, but rotten apples. "As some have said, I've decided to choose the 'Plant President' rather than the unpredictable 'Monster President'," he added.

He said, "There will be not many people who will be embarrassed by my decision, and some will criticize it. It can and I understand." he emphasized.
