An investigation was opened after the discovery of a human corpse on fire by firefighters on Saturday in Auray in Morbihan, we learned on Sunday from a judicial source.

The alert was given "by walkers who noticed the start of a fire in a green waste storage area of ​​the municipality", indicates the deputy prosecutor of the Republic of Lorient Eric Pouder.

“When they arrived on the spot, the firefighters noticed that the fire came from a human corpse”, adds the magistrate.

On the spot, the gendarmes “actually noted the presence of a body of a male person of undetermined age and identity”, he specifies.

Body autopsy scheduled for Tuesday

An investigation, entrusted to the research brigade of Lorient associated with the research section of Rennes, was opened to determine the causes of death.

No hypothesis is currently favored by the investigators.

According to a source close to the case, the victim is a man in his twenties.
