The Ministry of Education reported that seven universities within the country obtained a "high level of confidence" degree, according to an assessment approved by the ministry, whose criteria focus on the basis of measuring risk and confidence.

She confirmed to "Emirates Today" that its Academic Accreditation Commission is adopting a plan to raise the level of academic programs in universities, and is working to restructure them.

She pointed out that a number of national universities have achieved these standards and obtained a global ranking, including the Emirates, the Khalifa University of Science and Technology, the American universities in Sharjah, Sharjah, and Zayed University.

The aspects adopted by the Ministry to determine the levels of trust in universities in the country include the absence of any observations or irregularities in the aspect of disclosure and trust, clarity of the university’s strategy, and that the academic programs in it be sober and clear, taking into account the degree of interest in students, especially in exams.

The criteria focus on evaluating the accredited international programs taught by the university, its global classification, its commitment to accreditation standards over the past years, the excellence of faculty members, in addition to attracting them from the best international universities, and determining the number of faculty members compared to the number of students and university programs.

The ministry clarified that the university is subject to evaluation the same as the number of its programs, as the university that studies 20 programs is subject to evaluation 20 times in five years, at a rate of four times per year, noting that the periodic supervision of universities takes place every six months or a year according to the university, so the Higher education institutions are subject to continuous evaluation.

With regard to standards for licensing higher education institutions and accrediting their programs, the Ministry approved a set of standards, focusing on 11 aspects, including quality assurance, students, faculty members, scientific and research activities, governance and management, integrity, educational facilities, health, safety and environment.
