Democratic presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung and People's Strength presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol had a fierce battle in the first TV debate hosted by the National Election Commission, which was held from 8 pm on the 21st.

Candidate Jae-myung Lee opened the door to Candidate Seok-yeol Yoon, saying, "A crisis of democracy brings a crisis of the economy."

Regarding Candidate Yoon's insistence on additional deployment of the THAAD (high-altitude missile defense system), Candidate Lee said, "Where will it be deployed unnecessarily? There will be economic chaos again." Aren't you going to go up and worry about the threat of war in America? This is ruining the economy."

Candidate Yoon responded to this by saying, "I believe that properly applying the law to the corruption that (Lee) did while serving as mayor of Seongnam or Gyeonggi Province is the foundation of democracy and economic development."

Candidate Lee then criticized, "Answer me. Don't tell me anything else. You give the wrong answer." To this, Candidate Yoon responded, "Isn't this candidate a player to answer the wrong questions and get rid of them? Tell a story that no one else has told you..." I did.

Candidate Lee responded, "What did you not tell me? Don't lie like that. Do you lie habitually?" and Candidate Yoon responded, "The people will know."

Today's debate is the third TV debate between the four opposition and presidential candidates.

The legal debate hosted by the National Election Commission will be held once more on the 25th (Fri) and the 2nd (Wed) of the next month.
