The EU and the US have agreed on strong sanctions against the financial and energy sector in particular if Russia invades Ukraine.

In Russia, there is some concern about how further escalation of sanctions could affect the Russian people.

- A liter of milk that one day cost 50 rubles, the next day cost 60 rubles, says Moscow resident Olga Krupenina.

She has had enough of the state-controlled television channels, which continue to urge residents to take sanctions calmly.

- On TV, they do not make a sound about price increases and it is presented as if those in power are not to blame for it, Olga tells SVT.
