Every other year the World Cup takes place in North America and every other year in Europe.
This year it was Switzerland who arranged the competitions and their idea was that they would be held in Poland, but due to bad ice the plan was broken.
They changed their minds and instead aimed to drive in Lithuania or Estonia, but the weather there was not favorable enough either and on Friday it became official that the world championship would be decided on Hjälmaren.
The 122 participants then went to Sörmland.
In connection with the WC, the EC will also be decided, but it is very unclear whether that competition can be carried out in the same place given the storm that is expected to pull in over Sörmland and which led to SMHI issuing an orange warning for heavy snowfall.
