The Korea Sports Association announced that it would not sue the International Court of Arbitration for Sports and CAS regarding the miscarriage controversy that took place during the short track race at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

At a press conference held at the main media center of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics in downtown Beijing, China on the 20th, Lee Ki-heung, president of the Korea Sports Council, said, "At the time, we said that we would sue the CAS, but in the end, we decided not to file a lawsuit."

Also, where our players were disqualified, Chinese players took their tickets to the finals instead, and in this event, Chinese player Ren Ziwei eventually won the gold medal, raising public opinion in Korea that it was a 'biased judgment'.

However, at the press conference to close the event that day, Chairman Lee Ki-heung said, "Since the controversy over bias judgment arose, I have met with the International Skating Federation and ISU Presidents about 5 times, and also talked with Thomas Bach, Chairman of the International Olympic Committee." After that incident, the ISU also showed its own efforts.”

Chairman Lee said, "The situation improved in the second half of the tournament as other countries as well as Korea raised issues related to judgment.

He said, "Because the international competition is about to be held in Korea, we also considered the benefit. “, he added.

Chairman Lee summarized, "We thought that we had raised the issue sufficiently and had seen the effect to a certain extent, so we decided not to file a lawsuit after consulting with the team and lawyers."
