Hear about how SÄS works to solve the personnel crisis in the clip above.

Soon, the only permanent doctor at the outpatient clinic at Södra Älvsborgs Sjukhus is one who works part-time from Greece, which Borås Tidning was the first to report on.

This is the reception the patients come to first before they are admitted to adult psychiatry.

- It is short-term, there are several who stopped there for various reasons.

In psychiatry, we have come quite far with distance visits.

We have quite good experiences of having it as a complement to the doctors who are on site, says Jenny Linder, acting head of operations in psychiatry at Säs.

According to Jenny Linder, in addition to the doctor who works remotely from Greece, there will also be an experienced psychiatrist on site as an hourly employee.

Queues can form

The shortage of doctors may now mean that the waiting times for psychiatry at Säs may be longer, after the first two visits made by other professional categories, a medical assessment is made, but so far Jenny Linder believes that patients do not have to worry.

- We have a good view of acute psychiatry at Säs, and then you get to meet the person you need, and we keep the care guarantee to ninety percent, says Jenny Linder.
