The regional leaders of the PP were activated yesterday in search of a solution to the crisis of

Pablo Casado

and

Isabel Díaz Ayuso

.

Both the barons -those who govern- and the presidents of the PP who are in opposition exchanged dozens of calls between them to discuss the steps to be taken and to synchronize their positions and transfer them to Pablo Casado.

Those who do not govern complained that the party's national leadership has not even called them, shared experiences on "the situation of discouragement of membership" and reached a tacit consensus on two issues.

The first, erecting Feijóo in a kind of spokesperson for his complaints, "so that he, the one with the most authority, is the one who asks Pablo Casado to receive us at a

meeting on the future of the party

", reveals one of those involved.

The second, that the crisis with Ayuso must be solved with the dismissal of Teodoro García Egea, an opinion that obtained the support of the majority, according to various regional sources, or with a congress, but it

must be solved "as soon as possible" .

.

"There was consensus" according to two regional presidents and practical "unanimity" that the crisis should be stopped this week with a sharp move, according to another.

"The general opinion is that if Casado fires García Egea, he can have a containment dam," the sources say.

"That is what generates the most consensus and I don't think the meeting is necessary," adds another of the presidents consulted, who corroborates the coordinated movement of the regional leaders who do not govern.

They have also spoken with the barons, whom Casado did inform of this crisis on Thursday night.

"We have to take a step forward and put the party behind us. We want to meet with Casado to see if we have to hold a congress or simply throw out García Egea and sign peace with Ayuso. And we want Feijóo to be the one to promote the meeting this Saturday," a regional president of the PP told this newspaper.

"No one specifies anything, but

there is talk of removing García Egea

. And there is a movement so that we are heard," he adds.

The voice that has unleashed this mobilization is that of Alberto Núñez Feijóo, one of the moral leaders of the party, the one who is always looked at as a reference for the popular formation when curves come.

Feijóo invoked a quick and forceful solution yesterday morning and pointed to García Egea.

And even he invoked the possibility of an extraordinary congress.

That he doesn't want to, but that he remembers could be the outcome.

"Feijóo has come to the fore and has given up comfort, because

we need voices that are not in any of the trenches

," they explain to this newspaper in the Galician PP.

"When you screw up and screw it up deeply, you have to fix it," the president of the Xunta emphasized yesterday on EsRadio.

That is why he "hopes" that Ayuso and Casado do it as soon as possible.

The baron believes that the president of his party has to take matters into his own hands.

And he pointed without naming the secretary general as the person who must assume responsibility for this implosion.

"There is a very intense conflict here and the handling of that conflict has been absolutely inappropriate," Feijóo said.

"We must act and the only one who can do it is the president of my party," insisted Feijóo, who continued his criticism of Casado's team as follows: "If there is a conflict with an autonomous president or with a president of the Government and the leadership,

the party chairman has to act

.

And you can not act to increase the problem.

Action must be taken to fix the problem.

The leadership of a party is not there to amplify a problem, but to solve it". This depth charge immediately became unavoidable, since it appealed directly to Casado with the double message that he is responsible for part of this crisis and In addition, you have to do something to try to settle it.

For the leader of the Xunta, the president of Madrid and the leader of the opposition - once close friends, which is not a frivolous or minor detail - they have to

"sit down alone, without intermediaries, and find a solution to that problem that has been created in those circles"

(referring to the teams of both) "and to which the rest of us attended astonished".

"The rest of the party does not have to endure" that, Feijóo once again made ugly, acting at that moment as an unofficial spokesman for his teammates, who mostly move between astonishment and embarrassment at the erosion of the brand that is taking place under the spotlight, in prime time and unceremoniously.

Feijóo judged that the crisis unleashed on Thursday places the PP in "one of the most delicate moments in its history."

"We have been wrong in a forceful and pertinacious way" and

"the obligation is to apologize to all Spaniards, to the voters and to give explanations"

.

"This party was founded to serve Spain and yesterday we have not done it," he insisted.

In one of the key moments of his speech, the president of the Xunta de Galicia assured that he hopes that the PP does not need to "arrive at a congress to solve a problem" or force an extraordinary conclave.

That is to say, that the leadership be settled in the party's national conclave, scheduled for July... or in advance.

That's what he dropped.

Asked about the possibility of him presenting himself to that congress, Feijóo replied: ·I made that decision and it is made·.

I will continue to be loyal to Casado.

Our party is one of loyalties.

I am loyally giving my opinion.

If you had aspirations, it would be best to remain silent ·, he observed.

The Andalusian president,

Juanma Moreno

, called for "unity", dialogue and "mutual respect" to solve "the conflicts" and "differences", and the acting president of Castilla y León,

Alfonso Fernández Mañueco

, wanted to "transfer the indignation and the concern of voters, members and mayors about the situation we are experiencing".

The president of the PP of Aragón and mayor of Zaragoza,

Jorge Azcón

, asked that Casado and Isabel Díaz Ayuso "sit down to talk and focus on the most important thing, which is knowing the truth".

Others, like the president of the PP of Orense,

Manuel Baltar

, positioned themselves yesterday with Casado with greater resounding than Feijóo.
