Since Felix Tshisekedi came to power in 2018, relations between Kinshasa and Ankara have further developed.
These relationships are cultural, political, strategic and economic.
Culturally, the Congolese head of state had not hesitated when making a choice.
He quickly sided with Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the conflict between the Turkish leader and the Gülen brotherhood.
Among the Turkish interests in the DRC, there is in particular the Safak school whose works cost approximately four million dollars, a school which moved away from the influence of Gülen and came under the control of the Maarif Foundation of Turkey.
Félix Tshisekedi also went last September to the shores of the Bosphorus, to further strengthen cooperation with the authorities of this strategic country located on the borders of Asia and Europe.
In October 2021, a large delegation of Turkish entrepreneurs also made the trip to Kinshasa.
In discussions with Prime Minister Sama Lukonde, the latter showed interest in investments in various fields including agriculture, infrastructure, energy and trade.
The agreements that will be signed in Kinshasa therefore particularly concern these sectors.
