What is color fasting?

In the diet that has become known as "color fasting," foods are divided into color groups.

However, it is not about the external color, but about the nutritional values ​​of the food.

It is recommended to eat a certain amount of each color group daily.

According to the “color fast” diet, it is recommended to eat these quantities from the following food groups:

 1- Green color: 7 to 8 times a day

2- Pink color: 3 times a day maximum

3- Blue color: once per meal

4- Red color: Nutrition experts advise to dispense as much as possible from this group

Which food belongs to which color group?

green food

Not surprisingly, everything that is healthy falls into this category: fruits and vegetables (such as peppers, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, apples, and tangerines), legumes, and beans.

Because they are so healthy, you can eat as many of these foods as possible until you feel full (the only exception is that dried fruit should be eaten in moderation).

Tip

: Combine two different foods from this group with each meal, and also treat yourself to a small snack with them.

pink food

Starchy foods are pink foods that you can plan to eat 3 times a day.

This includes bread, pasta and potatoes, as well as muesli.

However, there are few healthy alternatives in this category, including quinoa (a type of grain), couscous, brown rice and sweet potatoes.

: If you want to lose a few kilos as quickly as possible, reduce the consumption of pink foods to once a day.

blue food

Fatty and protein foods belong to this category.

Protein in particular keeps you full for a long time, and the body needs it too.

Protein deficiency can lead to various health problems.

Therefore, protein-rich food should be on your plate at every meal.

This group includes milk and its derivatives, fish and nuts.

Tip

: You can also eat meat, but experts recommend a very small amount of 110 to 230 grams max.

red food

This group includes sugary foods, sweets in general, and processed foods.

It is better to completely ban it from the menu during the diet period.

But since few people can stick to it, a few small breaches are allowed every now and then, whether that's a glass of soda, juice, or a chocolate bar for dessert.

And if you do not move away from this group, you may not lose extra kilograms, as expected.
