“The Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, has decided to provide additional material assistance to the victims and families of those who died as a result of a medical incident at Consultative and Diagnostic Center No. 1,” the city administration said in a statement.

The families of the victims will receive 1 million rubles.

When a disability is established, the victims will be paid 500,000 rubles, and in case of damage to health - 300,000 rubles.

In addition, the authorities have developed a plan for providing targeted medical and social assistance to the victims and provided for emergency social assistance, support for families who have lost their breadwinner as a result of the tragedy, legal and psychological assistance.

At the end of January, it was reported that several patients of a clinic in St. Petersburg died after a diagnostic study.

According to the investigation, for a long time, medical services were provided in the said center using an industrial chemical preparation that was not included in the state register of medicines and did not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers.

The Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg has taken into custody an employee of the City Consultative and Diagnostic Center (GKDTS) No. 1, Elena Medvedeva, who is accused in the case of the death of patients.

In the case, the head physician of the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Healthcare Institution "City Consultative and Diagnostic Center No. 1" was also detained.
