President Moon Jae-in urged the National Assembly on the 18th to "actively cooperate in resolving the difficulties of people's livelihoods by handling the supplementary budget bill as soon as possible."

"President Moon said at today's staff meeting that the situation of small business owners and the self-employed is desperate," Blue House spokeswoman Park Kyung-mi said.

The ruling and opposition parties negotiated the supplementary budget plan in the National Assembly for over four hours yesterday too, but they could not narrow their differences over the quarantine subsidy.

The Democratic Party is in a position to give the government's 3 million won per person first, considering realistic conditions, and then to pay more after the presidential election, but the people's power is demanding a maximum of 10 million won.

The Democratic Party, which originally requested an additional budget of 35 trillion won, is taking the position that the government will expedite the additional budget of about 17 trillion won first, which has reinforced support for 'blind spots' such as special types of workers, freelancers, and corporate taxi drivers.

The goal is to process the supplementary budget bill by the 25th, within the session at the latest.

The Democratic Party plans to hold a plenary session of the Special Committee on Budget and Settlement of the National Assembly at 2 pm today to discuss the supplementary budget bill, but the people's power is not responding.

It is known that the Democratic Party of Korea will handle the supplementary budget alone if the people's opposition continues.
