Prime Minister Kishida met with the relevant ministers on the evening of the 17th to discuss measures to prevent the spread of 21 prefectures, which will expire on the 20th of this month.

16 prefectures such as Osaka and Wakayama with a deadline of 27 days will be extended, while 5 prefectures such as Okinawa and Yamaguchi will be canceled with a deadline of 20 days.

Of the 36 prefectures to which priority measures such as prevention of spread have been applied for the new corona measures, 21 prefectures will expire on the 20th of this month.



Prior to this, Prime Minister Kishida met with related ministers such as Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Goto and Minister in Charge of Japan's new Corona on the evening of the 17th to discuss the response.

Of the 21 prefectures, the government plans to extend the priority measures in 16 prefectures such as Kansai 3 prefectures, Hokkaido, and Fukuoka, and is considering extending Wakayama, which will expire on 27th of this month.



On the other hand, the five prefectures of Okinawa, Yamagata, Shimane, Yamaguchi, and Oita, where the infection situation is improving, will be canceled with a deadline of 20 days.



Prime Minister Kishida will hold a press conference at the Prime Minister's Office from 7:00 pm to clarify the response, and will formally decide on the 18th after consulting with experts.
