On the 10th day of mobilization for the freedom convoy in New Zealand and despite Cyclone Dovi which hit Wellington last weekend, the movement is not weakening.

More than 3,000 tents are now pitched on the esplanade of the Parliament, which looks like an anti-sanitary pass village.

An unprecedented mobilization for this country.

A hairdresser, a grocery store, a health center and soon even a school... The anti-sanitary pass demonstrators are getting organized.

Like Angélique who was a hairdresser before losing her job following government measures.

“

I arrived last Saturday with my scissors.

I didn't think it was going to be so lively.

But we had people line up for hours to get their hair cut.

It's incredible !

 “, she rejoices.

In the alleys of what now looks like a village, Lucy, a former teacher, sets up between two tents what could soon look like a school.

“

We are here for a while and there are a lot of children on site.

So we thought it would be nice to have something a little more formal.

Here it would be like a small school;

we have several teachers who have lost their jobs so we could set up a school program for the children

,” explains the young woman.

Around the Parliament, several businesses have had to close their doors because of trucks blocking the roads.

Suzanne owns a clothing store, and after the various confinements, this event is a real blow for her.

It's really quiet!"

Customers can't come or don't want to come.

We really hope for a return to normal!

»;

she laments.

The government announced that army vehicles were ready to end the blockades in the capital.

Negotiations between protesters and members of parliament are currently underway.
