This Saturday, Hendaye customs officers seized nearly 141.5 kg of herbal cannabis and 738.7 kg of cannabis resin at the Biriatou tollbooth.
They chose to control a lorry traveling to Holland from Spain and carrying 36 polystyrene blocks.
They first got their hands on a first bag containing grass in the cabin before discovering that the huge polystyrene blocks had the role of hiding a large quantity of narcotics.
Bruno Le Maire, Minister of Economy, Finance and Recovery and Olivier Dussopt, Minister Delegate in charge of Public Accounts congratulated the customs officers for this seizure in a press release, recalling that since January 1, 2022, the Hendaye brigade has already seized a total of nearly 1.3 tonnes of cannabis.
