Parents suspected of snatching their young daughter from authorities
The girl was four years old when she disappeared in 2019. The parents had had custody of their two daughters removed.
The tallest one had been picked up by social services, but Paislee was missing when the authorities came to pick her up.
The parents were suspected of having taken her but the police had found no evidence.
The police were informed this week that the girl was at the grandfather's house.
The police had already searched the premises but found no trace of the child.
But this time, an officer "saw what he thought was a blanket" through the stairs leading to the basement, said the police chief.
“Investigators started tearing down the stairs.
And at one point, they had removed several of the steps, they could see small feet, ”clarified the policeman.
The child's parents and grandfather have been charged.
They will have to answer in court for interference and endangerment of children.
The girl's mother was jailed while the two men were released on parole, according to the local ABC channel.
