Tensions in Ukraine are rising again.

As Russia announced that it had withdrawn some troops saying it did not want a war, there was hope for a diplomatic solution.

US President Biden also stressed that an invasion is likely to occur in the next few days.

] U.S. President Biden has called Russia's allegation of withdrawal of troops a disguised operation.

Rather, he emphasized that he had moved more troops to the border and that the invasion could be done in a few days.

[Biden/President of the United States: All the information we have is telling us that Russia is going to attack Ukraine.

The invasion will probably take place in a few days.]

US Secretary of State Blincoln attended an unscheduled UN Security Council meeting.

He said he came to the meeting not to start a war, but to prevent it, saying that diplomacy is the only solution to the situation in Ukraine.

He added that for this he proposed a face-to-face meeting with the Russian foreign minister.

[Blincoln/Secretary of State: If Russia's claim that it wants a diplomatic solution is true, Russia still has other options.

Diplomacy is the only responsible way to resolve this situation.]

Russia previously delivered a security guarantee agreement to the United States that included the cessation of U.S. arms supplies to Ukraine and the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Eastern Europe.

Russia's foreign ministry has repeatedly warned that it has no plans to invade Ukraine and that it will take military action if it does not agree to a security measure.

In the midst of this, tensions between the United States and Russia are escalating as Russia expelled the US deputy ambassador as a response to the US expelling of a Russian diplomat.
