Athletics: Norwegian Jakob Ingebrigtsen breaks the 1500m indoor world record in 3 min 30 sec 60  

The old record had been held since February 2019 (3 ​​min 31 sec 04) by the Ethiopian Samuel Tefera, who finished 2nd in 3 min 33 sec 70.

Ingebrigtsen, Olympic champion in the distance in Tokyo in 2021, had improved last year in the same room the best European time in history in 3 min 31 s 80.

This is the first world record achieved by the Norwegian prodigy (21 years old), who broke out in front of the athletics planet in 2018 by achieving the 1500m-5000m double at the Euro.

The 1500m outdoor world record has been held by Moroccan Hicham El Guerrouj in 3 min 26 sec since July 1998.
