A provocative attitude, rowdy declarations.
Tuesday, a motorist was tried before the criminal court of Brest (Finistère), for multiple traffic offenses committed four days earlier in Saint-Renan.
According to
Ouest-France
, the 20-year-old man was driving without a license and without insurance when he approached a roundabout where the police were carrying out a control operation.
Already well known to the police, the motorist sees the uniformed officers signal to him to pull over to the side.
He prefers to overtake in the roundabout, before rushing on a policewoman.
He ends up avoiding it at the last moment and accelerates to flee.
The defendant will be arrested a few moments later in the restaurant where he works on a fixed-term contract.
At the helm, he explains that he has known the policewoman for years.
"I don't like him," he told the court, reports
Ouest-France
.
He was sentenced to two years in prison, one of which is closed.
Already remanded in custody, the motorist was taken back to prison after the hearing.
