The criminal court of Valence (Drôme) delivered its deliberations on Tuesday in the judgment of three men accused of being at the origin of several dozen fires.

The defendants had appeared in court on January 25 for around forty fires started between May 2016 and November 2017. They were finally found guilty, reports

The main respondent was sentenced to four years in prison, three of which were suspended after recognition of the alteration of his discernment.

He will have to work, receive care and will be subject to socio-judicial monitoring.

His two accomplices received respective suspended sentences of 12 and 18 months' imprisonment.

The defendants are also obliged to reimburse the damage caused by the fires.

The arsonists had acted in the Drôme, the Ardèche, the Vaucluse, the Gard and the Bouches-du-Rhône.

In February 2017, they notably set fire to the premises of a company in Jonquières (Vaucluse), causing the explosion of 3,000 gas cylinders.
