The weather Thursday: temporary improvement in the north, spring near the Mediterranean

The weather will be changeable Thursday on the northern half while the attenuation of the wind will be gradual and temporary, according to forecasts from Météo France.

During the night from Wednesday to Thursday near the Channel and the northern borders, the westerly wind will be strong, it will blow in gusts up to 70 to 90 km / h, but over Normandy and Hauts-de-France , the wind will strengthen further and can reach 100 to 110 km/h.

A strong westerly wind from Normandy to the Great East

Thursday, from Normandy and Hauts-de-France to the Grand-Est, the westerly wind will remain strong for a good part of the day.

At the start of the day, it will still blow up to 70 to 90 km / h in gusts, then drop a notch in the morning before weakening in the afternoon.

Over the rest of the northern half, at the start of the day, the westerly wind will still be noticeable in many regions, but from the morning onwards it will gradually ease over the Atlantic coast.

Further south, the wind will remain quite strong on the relief of the Massif Central and the Alps.

Around the Mediterranean, the tramontane and the north-westerly wind over PACA will sometimes reach 90 to 100 km/h in the morning, before slowly decreasing.

On the sky side, from Normandy to the Hauts de France, from the morning the clouds will give way to beautiful sunny periods.

From the Grand-Est to the Center Val de Loire, Bourgogne Franche-Comté, and as far as Rhône-Alpes, there will still be many clouds in the morning, sometimes accompanied by showers, small snowfalls above 2000 m on the alpine massif.

It will be necessary to wait until the afternoon for the clearings to take hold little by little.

On the other hand, from Brittany to the Pays de Loire, the morning will be calm and sunny then the sky will cloud over and light rain will return.

Up to 23 degrees in Mediterranean regions

On the south-west quarter, on the other hand, the sky will remain very cloudy all day, but the rains, which are still frequent in the morning, will ease in the afternoon.

On the Mediterranean rim and Corsica, the weather will be dry but cloudy periods will thwart the sun.

As for temperatures, the minimums will range from 4 to 8 degrees in the southeast, from 7 to 12 degrees in the west and around the Mediterranean, locally 13 to 14 degrees in Roussillon.

The maximums will range from 10 to 15 degrees in the northern half, from 13 to 18 degrees in the south, up to 18 to 23 degrees in the Mediterranean regions.
