Barely a week ago, a man was posted online as a suspected pedophile, and confronted, by an organization whose goal is stated to be to protect children from abuse.

A preliminary investigation was initiated and the man was suspended from his jobs.

Something that SVT previously reported on.

The approach used by the organization, by using so-called "anglers", is not entirely unproblematic when it is then to be tried legally, according to the prosecutor.

SVT: Is it possible to use this as evidence in court?

- My assessment is that it does not.

Then I have to be able to present how the material comes about and we have not had any control over it.

One can imagine that there will be counter-objections that this is not all material, for example.

And then what is it that is not included that might speak in favor of the suspect?

As a prosecutor, I have an obligation to be objective and see to such circumstances that speak in favor of the suspect.

After the investigation has now been closed, Stina Sjöqvist says that it is not entirely unthinkable that there may be a counter-report from the previously suspected man.

- There could be a counter-notification regarding defamation, gross defamation or false accusation, for example, she says.

However, no such report has been received at present.
