The Russian Foreign Ministry recalled that there was no alternative to the Minsk agreements

“The Minsk agreements are the only non-alternative basis for a settlement in the Donbass,” Zakharova said.

She also stated that if there is political will, the Minsk agreements can be implemented in a few months.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the vote of State Duma deputies on sending an appeal to the head of state regarding the recognition of the LPR and DPR.

According to the Russian leader, the authorities will act on the basis of "not fully realized opportunities for the implementation of the Minsk agreements."

The Kremlin noted that Putin received an appeal from the State Duma on the recognition of the LPR and DPR and took it into account.
