They said yes for better and for worse.

More than 660 couples were married in a large collective ceremony Monday, Valentine's Day, in the popular neighborhood of Ciudad Nezahualcoyotl, in the east of Mexico City (Mexico).

This event has been held every year since 2013.

The ceremony allows couples to regularize their union but also to enjoy some advantages, such as receiving their marriage certificate for free, explained María Darinka Rendón, secretary of the town hall of this district.

According to her, this kind of collective wedding is "an event filled with emotion for the participants, for the families and for us too who are here to witness".

The oldest couple were Francisco Calvo, a 74-year-old trader, and Rosalba Silva, 67, without profession, two widowers who met five years ago and decided last year to get married.

“I thought there would be no more opportunity for me, but love has arrived because love arrives,” Rosalba explained, all smiles next to her husband.
