The Beijing Winter Olympics are in full swing.

This "ice and snow feast" fully demonstrated the charm of ice and snow sports and ignited the enthusiasm of the public to participate in ice and snow sports.

Today, ice and snow sports have become a new trend and fashion, and have been integrated into the ordinary life of the Chinese people.

Yang Kang, a resident physician of the Sports Medicine Department of the Bethune First Hospital of Jilin University, reminded the majority of ice and snow sports enthusiasts that ice and snow sports are prone to falls and collisions, and the risk of injury is high.

When enjoying the happiness brought by sports, everyone must learn to protect themselves and actively prevent injuries in ice and snow sports.

"In ice and snow sports, knee injuries can be described as the 'hardest hit area' for sports injuries."

Dr. Yang Kang introduced that the repeated and rapid changes in height, speed and direction during skiing require the knee joint to repeatedly flex, extend and twist within a certain flexion range. Therefore, it is very easy to cause damage to the knee meniscus and ligaments.

"Snow athletes tend to stretch out their hands subconsciously when they fall. At this time, the probability of injury to the upper limbs is the highest. The injuries are concentrated in the wrist and shoulder joints. Navicular fractures and forearm fractures are particularly common. Soft tissue contusions and rotator cuff injuries may also occur. , clavicle fracture, etc." Dr. Yang Kang said.

Dr. Yang Kang said that ice and snow sports require the body to maintain a bent over posture for a long time, so that the lumbar back muscles are stretched for a long time or in an unbalanced position, which can easily lead to local soft tissue fatigue in the waist, spasm ischemia, edema, adhesion, etc. causing back pain.

Some athletes have insufficient core strength, and it is easy to cause acute injury to the lumbar muscles when doing some extreme movements.

In addition, ankle injury is also one of the common injuries in ice and snow sports.

If ankle injury is not treated in time or improperly handled, it will lead to ligament relaxation and ankle instability, which will seriously affect daily life and work.

To avoid ice and snow sports injuries, Dr. Yang Kang reminded that you should do a full warm-up before exercising, choose appropriate sports equipment, and wear helmets, goggles and other protective equipment correctly.

Before exercising, you should be familiar with the terrain of the venue and make preparations for the safety of the venue.

"If you are injured while exercising, you should call for help in time. It can be simple first aid, and then seek medical attention as soon as possible." Dr. Yang Kang reminded that if there is a slight contusion, it is necessary to apply local braking and raise the affected limb; , to control swelling and soft tissue bleeding; if there is joint dislocation, the injured joint should be fixed before transfer; if there is a fracture, do not move the injured person at will, it should be fixed before moving.
