'Royals' Prince Andrew will pay eight million euros to the woman who denounced him for sexual abuse
Opinion Andrés de Inglaterra, one of the most vulgar people I have ever met, by Jaime Peñafiel
Queen Elizabeth II of England will help Prince Andrew to pay more than 12 million pounds (
14 million euros
) to the woman who denounced him for alleged sexual abuse, after the out-of-court settlement reached between the parties, the British newspaper reveals on Wednesday.
TheDaily Telegraph
.
The agreement, released on Tuesday, indicates that the
Duke of York
reached the out-of-court agreement with
Virginia Giuffre
, which prevents the queen's second son from having to give a court statement next March, as planned.
Giuffre has accused the prince of sexual abuse on three occasions when she was a minor.
Silence pact
Under the agreement, sealed in the US, both parties cannot speak publicly about the case or the agreement, although it is known that the prince has promised to pay a sum of money to Giuffre's charity that helps victims of abuses.
However, the
Daily Telegraph
states that the total money that Giuffre, victim of pedophile businessman Jeffrey Epstein, and his charity will receive exceeds 12 million pounds.
The same newspaper indicates that the 95-year-old sovereign has already privately financed her son's legal battle and will now finance part of the out-of-court settlement so that the prince can put an end to this case, which has jumped to the media. in the year that
Elizabeth II
turns 70 on the throne.
Apparently, the negotiations to reach the pact lasted at least ten days and ended last Sunday, adds the newspaper.
Stripped of the Dukedom of York?
The
Duke of York
has consistently denied Giuffre's accusations, saying in an interview with the BBC more than two years ago that he couldn't remember if he had ever met her.
Last January, the queen withdrew from the prince his military titles and the entities he sponsored, but today the media question whether Andrew would also have to lose the Duchy of York.
The prince is not expected to participate in the official celebrations for the
Platinum Jubilee
- the 70th anniversary of the reign of
Elizabeth II
- scheduled for early June.
However, the
Duke of York
will be seen in public at the end of March along with the rest of the royal family on the occasion of the religious service in memory of the
Duke of Edinburgh
, who died in April 2021, which will be held at
Westminster Abbey
, in
London
.
