Post

A heavy snowstorm pulls in over the Västernorrland coast and the southernmost Västerbotten coast from Wednesday afternoon to early Thursday morning.

SMHI has issued a yellow warning.

How you can be affected by the snowstorm according to SMHI:

• Traffic is slower due to slipperiness, snowdrifts and poor visibility.

• Limited accessibility on roads that, for example, have not had time to clear snow or due to traffic accidents.

• Risk of delays in bus, train and air traffic as well as canceled departures.

Areas with airborne power lines can be affected and at a temperature close to zero degrees cause disturbances in the electricity and telecommunications supply.

Slippery on E4 - the rescue service: "Slow down"

The rescue service in Nordmaling urges road users on the E4 to be careful as the road will be slippery.

- We were out in a traffic accident before and it is really slippery on the road.

The best thing is to slow down and keep your distance, says Lars Kinnunen, rescue leader in Nordmaling and continues:

- We have been in contact with the Swedish Transport Administration so they would try to sand.

But it can be a bit of a problem if the sand blows away.

It can also be difficult to combat slipperiness with salt because it does not bite at all temperatures.
