Cairo proposes new mechanisms for Egyptians to travel to Kuwait

The Egyptian authorities have proposed setting up new regulatory mechanisms to facilitate the travel of Egyptians to Kuwait, through a joint committee whose task is to determine the appropriate procedures, times and numbers.

During a meeting that brought together the Minister of Manpower in the Egyptian government, Muhammad Saafan, the Minister Plenipotentiary, Chargé d’Affairs of the Kuwaiti Embassy Osama Al-Obeid, and the Second Secretary, Consul General Muhammad Al-Hussan, ways of joint cooperation between the Kuwaiti Embassy and the Ministry were discussed, to overcome and facilitate obstacles for Egyptian workers wishing to travel to Kuwait, and to put in place mechanisms Organization of travel between the two countries.

Saafan suggested, according to a statement by the Ministry of Manpower, "the development of new organizational mechanisms to facilitate the travel operations of Egyptians, and to end the procedures submitted by the Kuwaiti embassy in light of the continuous cooperation and coordination between the ministry and the embassy, ​​with the need to form a joint committee from both sides whose task is to determine the appropriate procedures, timing and numbers for approving the papers of the Egyptians." Before traveling to Kuwait, to facilitate travel operations and prevent delays, especially since there are many travelers whose entry visas to the sister country expire soon.”

Saafan stressed the "deepness of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti relations", while Al-Obaid noted the strong relations between the two countries, stressing "Kuwait's keenness to facilitate the Egyptian labor and protect it inside the country, through documented and approved work contracts that provide them with all rights."
