An Israeli security document warned of an explosive situation in the Palestinian territories at the beginning of the upcoming month of Ramadan.

The document is a message sent by the commander of the West Bank division of the Israeli army, Brigadier General Avi Plaut, to the military leaders, and it was published by the official Kan channel on Tuesday evening.

"The ignition materials are already there, it's only missing a few decades of matches to ignite the whole area," Plaut said.

He added, "The deadline is the beginning of the month of Ramadan. This is a goal for the IDF forces, as they are supposed to be ready," expecting that the next escalation will be different from its predecessors.

He added, "The days of Ramadan associated with the Israeli holidays, as previously proven, will provide quite a few matches of this kind, and we must be prepared for this day."

The month of Ramadan begins in early April, which also witnesses the Jewish Passover (between 15-22).

Plaut concluded his message by saying, "Every day is considered important and an opportunity to enhance readiness, because the war is tomorrow," according to him.

For its part, Kan channel said that "the match could be riots in Sheikh Jarrah or the Temple Mount, or the deaths of Palestinians in confrontations with Israeli forces, or as a result of assassinations."

The occupied West Bank is witnessing increasing tension due to the practices of the Israeli occupation forces and settlers against the Palestinians.

Earlier on Tuesday, a Palestinian young man (20 years) from the village of Kafr Ein, north of Ramallah (central West Bank), was shot dead by the Israeli army at the entrance to the village of Nabi Saleh, adjacent to his village.

On February 8, an Israeli force assassinated 3 Palestinians in the Al-Makhfieh neighborhood in the city of Nablus (north) after shooting at a Palestinian vehicle they were traveling in.

Since Sunday, the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem has witnessed confrontations between Palestinians on one side and the occupation forces and settlers on the other, after the extremist Israeli MP Itamar Ben Gvir stormed the neighborhood and established a parliamentary office there with dozens of settlers.

The most recent escalation erupted last Ramadan, against the background of the occupation police’s incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, which blew up the situation in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Arab and mixed cities inside Israel, and led to a military confrontation with the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip that lasted 11 days and ended with Egyptian mediation.
