An Algerian family has defrauded "French care" for 6 years

The French website la dépêche reported that an Algerian family received 80,000 euros in social assistance from France for six years, or about 1,100 euros per month, in ways that defrauded the French welfare services.

Russia Today quoted the French website as saying that the father made regular trips back and forth to France, while he and his family had to reside in France to receive this aid.

The site indicated that the amount was obtained by a family living in Algeria without having the right to it, by receiving "active solidarity income" (RSA) and assistance from the "Family Assistance Fund" CAF, a social benefit created by France that complements the resources of people with low incomes, and to benefit from Of them, each beneficiary must meet certain criteria related to residence in France.

Because of this fraud resulting from social benefits, the couple was tried before the court of Avignon, the couple and their four children live in Algeria and the father regularly travels between Avignon and Algiers.

In such cases, criminal prosecutions are rare, as the repayment schedule is generally prepared.

"If this case comes to court, it is because of the scale, amount and duration of fraud... It is dishonesty that weakens the system," Deputy Prosecutor General Pierre Carmeier said.

During the investigation, the father said: "I had no choice, I was sick," and the mother said, "I didn't know it was this serious, I did it for my children."

The prosecution demanded a refund of the sums and a prison sentence of 3 to 4 months with a suspended sentence, while the final ruling will be issued on March 15.
