The three XXL wind turbines (180 m high) installed on the heights of Noyal-Muzillac, in Morbihan, should normally start turning in the coming weeks.
But the project now has lead in the wing, after the decision of the Nantes administrative court of appeal, as reported by
Ouest-France
.
On Tuesday, justice canceled the operating permit issued in May 2018 by the prefect to the promoter France wind energy, effectively making the park illegal.
This decision sounds like a victory for the opponents, united within the Vent de discorde association, who have been denouncing this project for several years.
A wind farm soon to be dismantled in Morbihan
In its decision, the Nantes Administrative Court of Appeal recognized that the wind farm was "damaging to the landscape and the convenience of the landscape".
The developer now has two months to appeal to the Council of State.
At the beginning of January, the prefect of Morbihan had already ordered the dismantling of the Guern wind farm.
Declared illegal by the courts at the end of 2019, the three wind turbines were still in operation until the decision at the end of December by the Council of State which rejected the operator's appeal for interim measures.
