A man in Köping was denied financial assistance for the rent - was also rejected in the Administrative Court

SVT's survey shows that 130 municipalities refuse assistance to non-approved leases.

Legal experts SVT spoke to say that the action does not have support in the laws the Social Services have to comply with.

In 2019, the Social Welfare Board in the municipality of Köping refused assistance to a person who lived alone secondarily in an apartment in the municipality of Köping.

SVT has been in contact with the man.

He does not want to be interviewed but says that he has been in a difficult financial situation.

He was afraid he would lose his home if he asked for a sublease from the property owner.

After the Social Welfare Board's refusal, the man appealed the decision to the Administrative Court in Uppsala, where he was also denied assistance with rent.
