A couple was the subject of an immediate appearance before the judicial court of Digne-les-Bains (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence).

The two defendants were accused of having grown cannabis in the garden adjoining their home in Valensole.

The gendarmes were called on December 15.

A 24-year-old woman claimed to have been hit by her companion who had fled.

The soldiers had discovered ten feet of cannabis in the garden, as well as grass and ecstasy in the accommodation.

Three kilos of drugs had been seized.

The 36-year-old suspect was finally arrested in Annemasse (Haute-Savoie) on January 3.

He had already been convicted 11 times, including six for drug use.

The man already detained was sentenced to eight months in prison and a fine of 1,500 euros.

His partner was given an eight-month suspended prison sentence and the same fine.
