US President Joe Biden said that Washington, in the situation with Ukraine, is ready both for negotiations with the Russian Federation and for a decisive response to Moscow's possible "aggression" against Kiev.

He announced this in his video message to the Americans on the Ukrainian crisis.

“We are ready for diplomatic engagement with Russia and our allies and partners to improve stability and security in Europe as a whole.

And we are ready to respond decisively to a Russian attack on Ukraine, which is still quite possible, ”said the US President.

Biden also announced his readiness to reach an understanding between the Russian Federation, the United States and Europe on security issues, which would be fixed in writing.

“This weekend, I had another conversation with President Putin to make it clear that we are ready to continue high-level diplomatic contacts in order to reach a written understanding between Russia, the United States and European countries on issues of legitimate security concern, if the same he wants, too,” the American leader stressed.

Director of the Center for Political Information Alexei Mukhin, in an interview with RT, noted that Washington is trying to save face, reaffirming its determination to counter possible "aggression" from Russia and at the same time declaring its readiness for negotiations with Moscow on security issues.

“Joe Biden repeated everything that was said before him and will be said after him.

Nothing new, apart from the false statement that NATO does not threaten Russia, and that it has no problems with hostility towards the Russians, has not sounded ... The position of the United States is not constructive, since they allegedly take all peaceful actions with one hand and even express readiness to continue diplomatic contacts, while the other one is deploying weapons on the territory of Ukraine, allocating funds for waging war and importing their own military instructors,” the expert stressed.

Replication of panic

Recall that the Western media over the past few months have been actively replicating information about the "invasion" of Ukraine, which Russia is allegedly planning.

These media, relying on information from anonymous government sources, published maps of the directions of strikes of the Russian Armed Forces, and also announced the dates for the start of the "invasion", gradually shifting them: in late December, mid-January, early February, before the Winter Olympics in Beijing or in during the Games.

Bloomberg even announced a Russian “invasion” of Ukraine with a misleading headline.

Later, Bloomberg, citing unnamed officials, changed its forecast and reported that Russia "might attack Ukraine" on February 15.

The British tabloid The Sun has once again updated the date of the "invasion", indicating February 16th.

In its report, The Sun relies on some US intelligence data, according to which the "invasion" will begin at 3 o'clock in the morning Kiev time.

The same message was published by The Mirror newspaper.

However, The Sun later edited the article and removed the exact time of the alleged attack from the title and text.

Instead, the story now reports that the night of February 16 passed without incident.

In turn, The Mirror did not edit its article, but admitted that the "invasion" did not happen.

According to the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, the Western media "tried to do everything to make the war happen."

“Perhaps they, on the pages of their newspapers, had serious battles, but this has nothing to do with reality,” she said at a briefing.

Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the publications, jokingly recommended to the residents of Ukraine “to set alarm clocks for this time and make sure for yourself” that no invasion threatens them.

Later, Peskov expressed the opinion that this information campaign would continue.

“To be honest, the nature of the current of this Western hysteria shows that, probably, the culmination is still far away ... We need to be patient,” he said, answering a question from journalists whether recent reports can be considered “the climax of Western hysteria.”

At the same time, he added: “It is still very important that representatives of the Western media, in this case the British, at least after a day each time noted that their prediction did not come true.”

Loud statements about the imminent invasion are also being made by senior government officials in Western countries, especially in the UK and the USA.

On the eve of the imminent “invasion” of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the head of the British Foreign Office, Liz Truss, once again announced.

In an interview with Sky News, she said that a military invasion was “very likely,” using the “highly likely” formula to evaluate this scenario.

“We know or believe that Vladimir Putin has not yet decided to invade Ukraine.

In our opinion, this is very likely.

A huge number of troops were drawn to the border.

We know that they are ready to go on the offensive immediately.

But he can still change his mind, and that is why diplomacy is so important - you need to make Russia understand that the price of the invasion will be tough sanctions, ”Truss said.

The head of the British Foreign Office added that the Russian Federation could allegedly attack Kiev, organize an attack from the east of the country, or arrange some kind of provocation or distraction.

She also stated that in the event of Russian military intervention, "the matter will not be limited to Ukraine."

“This is an encroachment by Russia on its neighboring states and on other Eastern European countries in order to undermine the legitimacy of their participation in NATO,” Truss said.

Maria Zakharova, commenting on the words of Liz Truss, noted that London continues to spread disinformation.

“As we understand, British Foreign Minister Liz Truss does not give up, she decided to disgrace herself to the end.

Apparently, a lot is at stake.

This, of course, is the feeding of this disinformation to their local journalists and tabloids - the mass media of disinformation in Britain, ”Zakharova said in her Telegram channel.

She also issued an appeal to the Western media: “A request to the US and British disinformation media - Bloomberg, The New York Times, The Sun, etc. - announce the schedule of our “invasions” for the coming year.

I would like to plan a vacation.

At the same time, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, in an interview with France 24 TV channel, said that the Russian Federation could carry out aggression against Ukraine this week.

According to him, Moscow is allegedly going to escalate the situation on the Ukrainian border.

The US rhetoric has been criticized by Beijing.

Thus, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said that China hopes to stop the spread of disinformation.

“We hope that the relevant parties will stop publishing such false information and take more actions to promote peace, mutual trust and cooperation,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

As Konstantin Blokhin, a researcher at the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, noted in an interview with RT, the United States and Great Britain continue to exert information pressure, and not only on Moscow.

“These statements are made with one goal in mind – to exert information and psychological pressure on both Russia and Ukraine and the entire international community.

If an escalation occurs, no one will figure out who started it first.

But it is obvious that Russia will not be the first to invade Ukraine, ”the political scientist explained.

“Now a certain information background is being formed in order to prepare the entire international community for the fact that Russia is the aggressor, which means introducing new restrictions and the main goal, of course, should be Nord Stream 2,” the expert noted.

Formation of the information background

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that units of the Western and Southern military districts on February 15 began returning from exercises to their bases.

“The units of the Southern and Western military districts, having completed their tasks, have already begun loading onto rail and road transport and will begin moving to their military garrisons today.

Separate units will make marches on their own as part of military columns, ”said Igor Konashenkov, official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, commenting on the Russian exercises, noted that the redeployment of units of the RF Armed Forces takes place regardless of the hysteria of the West due to the allegedly impending invasion of Ukraine.

The Minister stated this at a briefing following the results of negotiations with his Polish counterpart Zbigniew Rau.

“As for the exercises that Russia is conducting, I will emphasize once again, on their own territory in accordance with their own plans - they begin, are carried out and end as planned.

We have talked about this many times.

And as regards the exercises in the west of the country, as regards similar events in the Far East, or joint Russian-Belarusian exercises, which are also being developed and carried out strictly in accordance with a pre-agreed schedule.

This is done regardless of who thinks and what, who and how will hysteria about this, who and how is deploying real information terrorism, I am not afraid of this word, ”the minister emphasized.

Against the backdrop of another wave of Western media reports about the "invasion", a meeting was held in Moscow between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President Vladimir Putin.

At it, the Russian leader confirmed that Moscow had no aggressive intentions.

“That is why we put forward proposals for a negotiation process, the result of which should be an agreement on ensuring equal security for everyone, including our country,” the president emphasized.

Commenting on the latest statements by Western media and officials about the “invasion” of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, Pavel Feldman, deputy director of the Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, called them provocative.

“Predictions of this kind strike not so much at the Russian Federation as at Ukraine, from where citizens, foreign elites, and diplomats are fleeing.

People who make such statements position themselves as friends of Ukraine, support and hope.

Ultimately, they simply plunged this country into shock, chaos, and destroyed the investment climate.

Wishing to "protect", they carried out an information attack against Ukraine itself.

For the UK and the US, starting a war between Russia and Ukraine would be a great gift.

But you can disappoint them - the Russian Federation is not going to make this gift, ”said the interlocutor of RT.

The main beneficiaries of the information campaign about the "invasion" are the US and the UK, but it will soon become impossible to maintain, Feldman said.

“The provocative nature of such statements is already beginning to be comprehended by both the leading European countries and Ukraine itself.

Russia has long given an assessment of this kind of foreign policy of Great Britain and the United States.

Then, when there is no Russian attack on Ukraine, Biden will say that he prevented the third world war and established a dialogue with Moscow.

The position of the United States is win-win - in any case, they will proclaim themselves victorious, ”the political scientist emphasized.

The continuation of the information campaign about the imminent "invasion" will result in reputational losses for Western governments, Alexei Mukhin believes.

“Western media have repeatedly set a date for a Russian “invasion” of Ukraine, and each time their forecast has failed miserably.

Western countries that are involved in this unsightly act are now suffering monstrous reputational losses.

They lied so much that they lost all shame and must experience a wild complex on this topic.

But they don’t test it,” the political scientist emphasized.

At the same time, in this situation, Moscow managed to convince individual actors in the West of the need for parity talks on security, Mukhin added.

“Judging by the intensity of Vladimir Putin's current personal contacts with representatives of the Western establishment, yes, they managed to attract attention.

So we can say that the West responded to the demands of the Russian Federation, ”concluded the interlocutor of RT.
