“In connection with the further escalation of tension in the region, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that citizens of the Republic of Cyprus refrain from traveling to Ukraine.

In addition, citizens of the Republic of Cyprus, permanently residing and / or temporarily located somewhere on the territory of Ukraine, are invited to leave the country while direct commercial flights are being carried out, ”RIA Novosti quotes a statement from the department.

The Foreign Ministry warned citizens that in the event of a further deterioration in the situation in Ukraine, airlines may suspend or change the program of flights over the territory of the state.

For those who consider it necessary to stay in Ukraine, the department recommended that they provide their contact details to the embassy in Kiev and register on the online platform www.connect2cy.gov.cy.

Prior to this, a number of countries called on their citizens to leave Ukraine, including the authorities of Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Finland, Croatia, and Singapore.
