Lena Josefsson, the founder of the dance company Raande Vo, died in 2020 after an inflammation of the large carotid artery.

Now her work to put dance at the center will be celebrated with the dance festival Raande Vo.

According to a press release from Örebro municipality, it will take place during week 36 and the entire tribute will include dance performances, pop-up performances on streets and squares, workshops and a small exhibition.

Royal medal

During her lifetime, Lena Josefsson received several awards, including the Birgit Cullberg scholarship, Region Skåne's culture prize and Nerikes Allehanda's culture prize.

She also fought several times against Örebro municipality for the dance company's future, both in terms of financing and local needs.

In 2012, she received the royal medal Litteris et Artibus for "outstanding artistic contributions".

The performances during the dance festival will take place at Hjalmar Bergmanteatern and Örebro Konserthus.
