Requests for accreditation were accepted the day before in electronic form, and all the media who wanted to attend the process received it, the source said.

In addition to the hall itself, where Navalny is being tried and where photography and video filming are not allowed, the administration of the colony, for the convenience of the press, has prepared two more halls with an online broadcast of the court session.

Opinions were previously expressed that holding a trial of Navalny in a colony where he is serving a sentence in another case could violate the principle of openness of the trial.

However, as a result, on February 15, journalists broadcast online directly from the colony building.

According to the official data of the Federal Penitentiary Service, from January 1, 2019 to January 1, 2022, 8,947 field meetings were held in penitentiary institutions in relation to 9,057 people.

In particular, in connection with the illness of the convict, 198 visiting sessions were held in the colonies.

In addition, 81 meetings were held in relation to 63 people in correctional institutions for crimes committed by the accused before conviction.

Another 48 visiting court sessions were held on crimes committed directly in the colonies.

The Lefortovo Court of Moscow on February 15, at an off-site meeting in correctional colony No. 2 in Pokrov, began considering the case against Alexei Navalny, who is accused of fraud and contempt of court.

On December 1, 2021, the Basmanny Court of Moscow recognized the initiation of two more criminal cases against Alexei Navalny as legal.

In February last year, the Simonovsky District Court of Moscow decided, due to numerous violations, to replace Navalny's suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case with a real one.
