The Bayonne court (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) sentenced a Spanish truck driver to five years in prison on Monday.
The respondent had been checked at the Biriatou tollbooth (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) on January 5.

The man claimed to have been "threatened" by the sponsors to transport the drugs to the Paris region by placing them in a concealed compartment.
He said he had already made a first trip to Berlin (Germany) in November 2021 on behalf of these individuals.
960,000 euros customs fine
The public prosecutor had requested six years in prison in order to "discourage this cross-border traffic".
The defense lawyer had meanwhile assured that his client was far from being a professional in this type of illegal activity.
In addition to his prison sentence, the driver received a customs fine of 960,000 euros and a ban on French territory for five years.
The value of the seized cannabis was estimated at nearly one million euros.
