In 2021, the activity of lifeguards at sea increased sharply in Marseille

They watch over the users of the sea and the coast.

The volunteer rescuers of the SNSM (Nautical Society of Sea Rescuers) recorded a further increase in their interventions in Marseille in 2021.

The Bonne Mère star was released 468 times last year, an increase of 25%.

In detail, rescuers recorded 148 rescue operations at sea (+7%), including 28 false alerts.

84 other departures concerned the rescue on land of victims of illness or injury in the creeks and on the island of Frioul.

In all, the sailors rescued 278 people in 2021 in the harbor of Marseille and on its coast.
