“The adoption of any of these two resolutions is a historic event both for the State Duma and, first of all, for the residents of Donbass, because we are talking, first of all, about a completely different approach to this situation,” he said.

Turov expressed hope that the Russian parliamentarians "will be heard, among other things, by the official authorities in Kiev after such decisions." 

“Today there will be a truly rating vote and our deputies representing all regions of Russia will decide which option will be adopted,” the deputy said.

Earlier it was reported that the State Duma will consider two options for a resolution on an appeal to the President of Russia with a call to recognize the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR.

State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin explained that one project involves consultations with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the second, if adopted, will be sent directly to the head of state.
