“The US government is offering sovereign loan guarantees to Ukraine in the amount of up to $1 billion,” RIA Novosti reported.

As noted, the purpose of these measures is "to support the program of economic reforms in Ukraine and the continuation of interaction with the International Monetary Fund."

Earlier, White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said that the United States is considering providing loan guarantees to Ukraine as part of a package of additional macroeconomic support measures.

The EU countries approved the decision to provide Ukraine with a new package of macro-financial assistance in the amount of €1.2 billion.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that in recent months Ukraine has received about $1.5 billion in support from Western partners.
